What is the aim of the course?
To provide the knowledge and skills to enable an instructor to be able to assess and instruct employees who are working in a work-related driving environment.
What are the course objectives?
The objectives of the DSA Accredited Fleet Trainer Course are to ensure that course participants:
- Achieve a required standard of presentation skills
- Gain knowledge and understanding of the demands of company fleet training in order to successfully pass the written examination
- Are able to demonstrate a required standard of driving and instructional ability
- Can give in-car instruction and are able to assess a client, recognise and analyse faults then offer rectification.
How is the course implemented?
The 5 day course incorporates both classroom and practical training sessions and four examinations – a Theory Exam, Presentation Skills, a Driving Test and an Instructional Ability Exam.
It is delivered by highly qualified Approved Driving Instructors who have been on the DSA fleet register for many years and have vast experience in delivering fleet training to companies and organisations.
Where are courses held?
Courses are held at Lancashire County Council Approved Training Centres.
The course includes lunches and refreshments and is conducted over five days, this incorporates both classroom and practical training sessions.
