Motorcycle Training Assessment

The Group offers Compulsory Basic Training courses for new riders of mopeds and motorcycles. For further information please contact the Road Safety Group.

Free motorcycle rider assessments are available for riders of all motorcycles. This FREE assessment is offered to motorcyclists who wish to take advantage of a professional riding instructor’s assessment of their riding skills, road awareness and hazard perception.

Target market

The Road Safety Group currently provides free assessment rides for all types of riders who either live in or travel through Lancashire.

Aim of Rider Assessment

To provide a platform of assessment in order to conduct a gap analysis on riders abilities and recommend where necessary training measures to close those gaps.

Methodology

  • To assess the rider on-road over a period of not less than 1 hour
  • To use the assessment to highlight the rider’s immediate gaps and prospective needs
  • If necessary, to recommend a suitable training course to help address those needs

Evaluation

Questionnaire type evaluation captured from every client. Raw data to be analysed by evaluating body, trends identified and results published.

Funding

This project is funded by Local Area Agreement and forms part of the stretch target strategy.
