Why can I not use the password for other Cerberus systems to access Lancashire Rose?

Lancashire ROSE currently requires a separate username and password from other Cerberus systems developed by BT Lancashire Services which use the same username and password. This is due to ROSE being a secure confidential site used only by schools and their advisers.

Developments have been made by BT Lancashire Services to maintain the security of Lancashire ROSE but also to allow this system to interact with other school systems. For example, school users can be set up to allow them to log into the Schools Portal and then follow a link straight to the ROSE website, using only their Schools Portal log in.

I'm into the site, how do I find my reports?

Once you have successfully logged into Lancashire ROSE you will be presented with a welcome page, showing latest news as well as a number of options on a the left hand side tab menu for your navigation of the site.

School users should then click ‘View Selection’.  This takes the user to a page that shows the projects available to that particular school.  Click on the required project (e.g. Lancashire School Information Profile LSIP), then click on the required report (e.g. 2014/15 LSIP).  Choose 'Open' to read only, or 'Save'.  It is important to save any documents (such as Excel spreadsheets) that you will be making changes to.

Other users will need to select 'School Selection', then click on the required Local Authority (e.g. 888 Lancashire), then click on the required school, then follow the steps above.

Where can I find help using the reports available on ROSE?

Each project provides a range of documents each year. For example, the LSIP provides Technical and Interpretation Guidance Notes to support each Report produced. You will find these documents in the same section as the main reports, with the description 'guidance notes'. Guidance notes will give an explanation of the way you can use the data provided, where the data is sourced from, and how it is calculated. It is recommend that you refer to these documents while reviewing the technical reports.

Where guidance notes are not provided or if you have any further queries please contact School Improvement's Professional Support Team Helpdesk via email pst@lancashire.gov.uk or telephone (01772) 531555.

When will the reports be updated?

Reports are updated each year when new data is released. Most assessment data is released the autumn after the summer assessments. For example, Key Stage 2 is assessed in schools in May. Following receipt of new data from the DfE, the Professional Support Team will then prepare the data and update the reports, (the time this takes varies with the complexity of the project) and then publish the reports on Lancashire ROSE. Other projects that collect data directly from schools – such as the Pupil Attitude Questionnaire – will update reports after the year's data has been collected and prepared.
