In August we processed 22 new deposits of documents, all of which were selected for permanent preservation.

Preston County Borough: private street improvement plans (ref CBP/82/3)
These plans were deposited with us by Preston City Council and show sections of sewers in individual streets ranging in date from 1857-1914. They give details of contractor, dates of contract and work, house numbers, owners and geological features. The photo on the right shows Peter Place which features on the plan for New Cock Yard c.1875. Have a look at the catalogue to see if you can find the plan for your street!
