About us
‘Creative Lancashire is the creative industries development service for Lancashire County Council, working with Business Link North West, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool unitaries to provide a joined up service.
Its remit is to develop, enhance and promote the environment for creative industries in Lancashire by strengthening existing businesses, supporting new enterprises and working to raise the competitiveness and profile of the sector and the sub-region. It achieves this by providing sector-specific advice and support to businesses engaged in design, media production, software development cultural and creative services. Creative Lancashire provides networking opportunities both real and virtual, specialist expert one to one surgeries, information on seeking finance, support to develop new products and services helping Lancashire companies to grow and attracting inward investment.
Creative Lancashire also acts as an advocate for the creative industries in Lancashire working to promote the importance of creativity and design as a key economic driver, influencing public policy through the Local Area Agreements and Multi Area Agreements. In this role Creative Lancashire has contributed to the cultural strategies and cultural asset mapping that has taken place along the Fylde Coast and in Pennine Lancashire and recognises the need to build creative capacity to build a vibrant visitor economy.’
